    I am finding hsperfdata_root in /tmp

I understand that this has something to do with JAVA and the instillation of suspscan But what is that?

Is this a feature installed by cPanel?

    Hello,

It's part of the Java performance counter. It's not something that's associated with cPanel/WHM, but rather with the Java installation on your system.

    Thank you.

Thanks. The only problem is, we did not install this, and I have no idea what a "Java performance counter" is or what it does. Every google search brings up pages that are usually nondescript.

It's enabled by default from what I can tell, so it's not something you would have installed. Try searching for "hsperfdata" instead of "hsperfdata_root" for more information.

    Thank you.
