    I'm having a problem with the protect directory option from cpanel.

    I get the following message after inputing the user name and password .
    Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
    Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    I tried to edit the .htaccess and the passwd manualy since the tool from cpanel does not work at all, but I still get an error in the logs, it says:
    /home/hosting/public_html/admin/.htaccess: Options not allowed here
    My .htaccess file.
    # -FrontPage-

    Options None

    <Limit GET POST>
    order deny,allow
    deny from all
    allow from all
    require group authors administrators
    <Limit PUT DELETE>
    order deny,allow
    deny from all

    AuthType Basic
    AuthName "Restricted Area"
    AuthUserFile "/home/hosting/.htpasswds/_private/passwd"
    require valid-user

    Is there any way of solving this? there are alot of users on my server who desire to protect directories with htaccess.
    I undestand there is a bug in cpanel, isn't there a way to do this manualy?
