http and www

    I am having problem with accessing my site www.mydomain.com it is
    opening as http://mydomain..com but not opening with
    http://www.mydomain.com please help me out.This problem is only on a particular domain in that server.

    Already i searched here found some similar threads none of them are not working.

    Did the serveralias line exist in the httpd.conf file or did you have to add it? If you added it, you need to restart apache to read the changes.

    If you modified your db file, you need to restart named for it to be read.

    serveralias is there that i given in my virtual host configuration,i didn,t make any chages,that congiration is already there,and restarted named and httpd twice,but no luck

    you said:

    Make sure theres a . on the end of mydomain.com so its www IN CNAME mydomain.com. or otherwise named recognises it as www.mydomain.com.mydomain.com. The . on the end of a entry defines it as a HOSTNAME. So that could be the problem.
