http://whatsmyip.org/mod_gzip_test/ mod_gzip test shows false

Even though mod_gzip is enabled under easy apache (latest 1.3.x apache version) the test at http://whatsmyip.org/mod_gzip_test/ shows pages served from my whm/cpanel servers as not gzipped.

The httpd.conf built has

Any ideas on what to look for to start?
