HTTPD Keep Restarting Every 10 Minutes

My httpd always restarted every 10 minute with message at error_log:

[notice] SIGUSR1 received. Doing graceful restart.

Why ? Please help.

if its every 10 minutes, something might be sending it a kill signal, best course of action for starts would be to check for a malicious cron job

But, i did check my cron job, there was no process on every 10 minutes, for sure its easy to me to check because i only have one account on my server.

Any idea please, is it any process other than cron to make a httpd restart every 10 minute ?

Please help.

hmmmm

thats a funny and confusing thing happening on your server. check out if there is any script which has the kill command for your httpd and which is added to cron.

thats the only possible thing i can think of right now

Yes, I did stop the crond process for a while, but the httpd keep restarting every 10 minutes, i dont think is a cron, its may be some other daemon will send the signal too httpd to restart. hmm... very funny.

anything at all helpful in
/usr/local/apache/logs
?
either your error_log or access_log should tell you why the daemon is perishing or if you are getting pummeled by some outside source.

AHH I just saw you mentioned the lovely SIGUSR note in your error_log--- Well, that usually means the apache server is getting flooded from somewhere, and its open/listening processes are quickly getting max'd out- or physical memory is going bad. Can you check the network flow on that server and see if someone in particular is flooding you via port 80?

flooded from somewhere ? I dont think so, i try to pull out the utp cable from my server and monitor it manually, i dont think is attacking from somewhere coz no connection into my server but the process is keep restarted the httpd every 10 minute.

Please help.

P/S: Its may be one of daemon it cause the httpd will restart every 10 minute ..but i dont have any idea which one...

I can't imagine what else related to cpanel that would cause that to occur.......

hmm....i really blur and no idea what should i do....chkservd ? i did stop the process for a while yesterday but the httpd still keep restarting ...and its very funnny .. exactly on every 10 minute ...hmmm

I'm totally wrong,

The httpd keep restarting again on every 10 minutes after few hours, the upgrade to Cpanel 4.8.0-60 only effect about 10 hours and now the error its happen again.

Please help.

Does anybody know why dos this thing happen to my server? And why after i upgrade it to Cpanel 4.8.0-60 version, it can only hold for a few hours and later turn back to error.

Woah. Just checked my error_log and it did the same thing. Except it ended at 17:43:52 on my server. Nothing on the 23rd though.

I have tons of all of these in my logs .I am still on old PHP and old apache. I mean real old ..never been upgraded in a year. I have also noticed my memory useage go up until I restart apache.
