Alright here's the situation. I ordered three VPS accounts with CentOS 4. Now apache was installed (and working) on these servers by default. I went on my merry way installing cpanel like i've done before.

Now, for some reason the apache install seems to have gotten all screwed up and httpd refuses to start because "user/local/apache/bin" no longer exists.

I've tried all the usual methods to rebuild apache via cpanel and nothing has seems to work.

I also looked to see if maybe apache had been installed somewhere else and I couldn't find anything.

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Have your provider disable apache as cpanel will use and configure its own build and start over.

Installing cPanel/WHM on a server that already has Apache on it is a recipe for disaster. When our installation script goes to install Apache itself, unpredictable things can happen. This ranges from 2 copies of Apache being functional, and a novice sysadmin not knowing which one is the one they are supposed to be using to the more frequent, no functioning web server.

I'd recommend having Apache removed from your server before attempting to install cPanel/WHM again.

    auditd
    crond
    dc_client
    dc_server
    gpm
    iptables
    lm_sensors
    named
    netfs
    netplugd
    network
    nscd
    portmap
    rawdevices
    saslauthd
    smb
    snmpd
    snmptrapd
    sshd
    syslog
    winbind

    Again, thanks for the help.
