    https:

I need some clarification and direction.

I have a new host site which offers https: ssl 128 as part of its hosting services.

While my domain name is not curently pointing to the new hosted site i can access it via the http:\ipaddress~loginname or https:\ipaddress~loginname which shows secured in the status bar.

I want my site to utilize the https especially for the cart/checkout portion of the site. How do I configure my site so the https is used?

I there a way to have all the pages be https? Can this selectively be done?

Your host is offering shared SSL you can access the site via https:\ipaddress~loginname or they also will normally provide an anonymous domain name like https://secure.domain.com/~accountusername for you to use.

If you load your whole site through https it will load fractionally slower, normally you would run the site over http and just redirect to https for the checkout page. To do this the cart programs normally have an area where you can specify the https connection to use for the checkout.
