Huge amounts of dormant email in exim queue, backed up for 60 days or longer!

    "Delivery Queue (31907 emails)"

    For years I have been trying to figure out how to get exim to get rid of dormant email messages after they have been on queue for over a few days, but so far no luck. Heres the stuff that I have been using so far:

    queue_only_override = false
    auto_thaw = 1d
    ignore_bounce_errors_after = 1d
    timeout_frozen_after = 2d
    no_message_logs
    delay_warning = 0h
    log_selector = +arguments +subject

    Is there any way to make exim (or cPanel) "smarter" in this regard, or is just something that we're going to have to live with?

    This sequence works for us:
    Code:
    queue_only_override = false
    no_message_logs
    log_selector = +arguments +subject
    timeout_frozen_after = 4d
    ignore_bounce_errors_after = 2d

    Thanks kernow. Hmmmm, this is very similar to what I have.

    Is the sequence of commands important here?
