My server is a quad cpu with 8gb ram.

When I run top I got this

    VIRT RES SHR
    423 nobody 15 0 126m 13m 2644 S 0.0 0.2 0:00.01 httpd
    429 nobody 15 0 126m 13m 2812 S 0.0 0.2 0:00.01 httpd
    436 nobody 15 0 126m 13m 2252 S 0.0 0.2 0:00.01 httpd
    456 nobody 15 0 126m 12m 1740 S 0.0 0.2 0:00.00 httpd
    465 nobody 15 0 126m 12m 1792 S 0.0 0.2 0:00.00 httpd
    467 nobody 15 0 126m 12m 1792 S 0.0 0.2 0:00.00 httpd
    473 nobody 15 0 126m 13m 2240 S 0.0 0.2 0:00.00 httpd

The VIRT size is too big, cause in other servers I have the same config and only takes like 75mb or less.

    this is free -m output

total used free shared buffers cached
    Mem: 7882 4100 3782 0 137 3410
    -/+ buffers/cache: 552 7330
    Swap: 4094 0 4094

Seems that all is ok, but why the VIRT size is so high?? any clue?

    Thank you
