During backup mysql memory consumption reached above 1.3G

    executing

    yields :

    Code:
     | 11 | root | localhost | | Query | 0 | | show processlist |
iotop reveals that the only process that is causing heavy I/O is gzip , which is normal because it's backing up

this backup is the legacy backup supported by the cPanel/WHM .

    hard disk is SSD , memory is 2G , processor is E3-1230 V2 3.30GHz X 4

    server load is

    Code:
    load average: 1.47, 1.63, 1.54
i restarted mysql .. looked into host.err logfile in /var/lib/mysql .. no errors is showing ..

backup is mainly backing up emails .. which is about 20G+ .. all text.

    site is static no databases

    /var/lib/mysql size is 75M

    why is this happening ?

    Hello :)

Have you considered switching to the new backup system to see if the improvements help prevent the increased memory/CPU usage?

    Thank you.
