Sorry for the very basic question, but I have just installed Joomla on a server running CPanel 8. There is a temp directory that has a bunch of cpanel.tmp.xxxxxxxxxxx files in it. These files are big and taking up a huge amount of my available server space.

What are they and can they be safely deleted?

Thanks for any help that you can supply to a newbie.

Ah-ha! I thought that at the top it was saying "CPANEL 8", it appears to say "B". When I look down below, it states version 10.9.0-RELEASE 139.

There was another post around here mentioning these I think and someone responded to make sure cPanel updates were not running first, then they could be removed. You might try searching for cpanel.tmp or something here to read more first.

I tried the search first and didn't find the thread you were talking about and then posted this thread.

Of course....I immediately found that thread that you were talking about.

    Thanks for the help.
