Today my son who is learning to build websites went to login to our servers whm area since ftp needed to be restarted...however he apparently was bored and typed xxx for username and password and when he pressed enter the whm area came up but the background was of completely nude women...how can you put such a thing in a professional product like this? this is absolutely unacceptable!

Maybe you need to look for spyware installations on your PC. I really cant see cPanel risking their reputation in the way you've described.

For reference, the WHM will not accept xxx for the username and password. i.e. the password can not contain the username. So if your son happened to enter something else be sure to submit a bug request and include the *exact* details and steps that the staff at cPanel can follow/use to replicate it.

Did he tell you he did this or did you witness him do it?. Maybe your son is also learning how to surf adult websites too. Did you also try to duplicate what he did ?. Did you try to see if the files are REALLY on your server or if you were redirected to a site?. You dont actually believe that the Cpanel people would risk their reputation and business by burying porn in their control panel software, do you ?

Anyone with a little common sense would know this did not come from CPanel. Check for spyware or "lies" maybe?

I would say the key words are: "apparently", "xxx", "background"

"Apparently" you did not see this happen, since your son was on your computer system by himself. While alone on the computer typing "xxx" he was able to find either some malicious software running in your computer’s or server’s "background" or found this and maybe other images in a search engine and decided it would be cool to have it as a "background".

In any case I have personally attempted to recreate this scenario (lol, I wanted to see the woman, j/k) and my result was an error as stated before username and password must not be the same and no woman appeared...

If anyone took this seriously, hexstar is actually a teenager with a tendency to get banned from forums.

I wish my WHM background was nude women)!

I'm sure this is not included by cPanel and something is going on with either your server of the truth.

Considering that hexstar has been a member for a while, I'd say the son is just trying to lie his way out of getting in trouble. I know it's not a cPanel bug.

Try it yourself and if you do get that background, your computer has something installed that isn't supposed to be there.
