Hi
I have used the new facility in WHM to migrate some accounts from my Ensim old server
Main >> Transfers >> Copy multiple accounts from another server
Things look ok so far (files mails accont), But I can t see the databases using Cpanel nor PHPMyadmin, and the sites those need database to run are down now
Any idea how to fix that

Main >> Transfers >> Copy an account from another server
I tried this also but it didn t work at all and I got this error

"The remote server didn't report a correct md5sum of the archive. Please ensure you selected the correct type of remote server."

Sorry I want to say that the databases were not migrated, just the files

I am logging through root
I think the transferring option that Cpanel has added in its latest versions still need a lot of work

I have not found ensim -> cPanel migrations to be reliable. I have found ensim -> Plesk to work relatively well, and plesk -> cPanel to work OK as well. But no auto-migration works perfectly, you always have to check all is there including your databases, email, accounts, etc...

wisam74us,

What version is MySQL on Ensin and what version on cPanel? We've been running into the same issue. Our Ensim boxes are 4.1 but cPanel are 4.0.x (we'll be upgrading shortly). From looking at the conversion script it just tars up the actual databases (not a dump and load) so it's very doubtful that it would work crossing MySQL versions.

mysql Ver 11.18 Distrib 3.23.58
mysql Ver 14.7 Distrib 4.1.21

Yes they are different versions, so you advice to do the database migration manually ??? and I hope I will not have compatibility problems

Yea, we have to manually convert the databases (and update the clients scripts). Here is the basic procedure that we use:

- mysqldump on the Ensim box
- Create the user/db on cPanel
- Load the backup
- Search the clients scripts for "localhost" (an indicator that it's a config file for MySQL) and update with the new db user/name/password

There are no issues dumping a 3.x MySQL db and loading it to 4.0 or 4.1 (or even 5 for that matter).
