This seems a bit strange because it looks like it should be pretty straight forward, but I can't seem to find my email through cpanel.

I don't view email through cpanel. I have email forwarding turned on and I do receive the forwarded email at the other address, so everything seems to be working in that respect. I do want to cleanup the email on the server and do some configuration, but when I try to view email from any of the cpanel applications it shows the inbox (and all of the other folders) as empty. I have a .net parked and redirected to a .com. Both domains receive email and each has a default account set up. both are receiving email. If I go to add/remove email accounts, both show disk usage for the stored email, but I can't find where it is stored.

I set this up a while ago with the default cpanel screen (I think it was cpanelx). I later changed the frontend to something different and there doesn't appear to be any way to change it back. it just seems like something is missing from what I remember and screenshots that I have seen trying to research the problem look different than what I have. I'm not sure if that is a factor or not, but I thought I should mention it just in case.

Any ideas?

OK, I have been playing around with it some and figured out that it apparently has something to do with a security update they did last year requiring us to change to much more complex passwords.

When I click on read webmail it takes me to the screen to select the interface to open it with (squirrel, Horde, etc...) and no matter which I select, there is no email. If I go to add/remove email accounts there are options to choose which email account to check, and it prompts for the password. I type in the password and am taken to another login screen where I type in my user name and password and am again taken to the interface selection screen and no email. What I didn't notice at first was that after the first password request, the next login window said login failure at the top. I then went back to add/remove email accounts, selected the email account I wanted to check and typed in the old password and it took me to the account containing my email. It worked for both accounts.

I'm not really sure what is going on. Same email address, but different password. That doesn't make sense. Obviously the "read webmail" app, is pointing to the empty account, but I don't even know what that account is. There are no additional stray accounts in add/remove email accounts, only the ones I use, but I still have this different account when I log in with the new password.

Any ideas on what has caused this and/or how I can fix it?

No idea about that, but only thing i can say that, sometimes we play with our settings and get the solution of our problem, so check the settings and alter them, it may help sometimes, and for further information go the official website, and get a answer with the professionals, i am new and just learning about all the features.
