Your server cannot resolve outside domains

It appears that your server cannot resolve domains that it does not host. That is the meaning of "Cannot resolve cpanel.net. Please check /etc/resolv.conf."

Edit your /etc/resolv.conf file and ensure that it contains working resolvers. Most data centers offer resolvers for their customers to use, so I recommend asking your data center for assistance. Alternatively, you can also use something like Google's public DNS service. The following page offers information about this:

    Google Public DNS

To use Google's resolvers, edit your /etc/resolv.conf file with an editor like vi or nano and place the following lines at the top of the file:

    Code:
    resolver 8.8.8.8
    resolver 8.8.4.4
I do recommend asking your data center for the resolver IP addresses that they recommend using, because most data centers do host resolvers for their customers' use.

We offer free installation assistance. If you would like for us to help you install cPanel, please submit a ticket at the following page, and we will be happy to help you.

    Regarding, /etc/resolv.conf ...

The first choice would be to use your data centers resolvers
but you could also use some of the larger backbone resolvers
such as the ones that Jared gave or 4.2.2.1 or 4.2.2.2
    Code:
    nameserver 4.2.2.1
    nameserver 4.2.2.2

Regarding installing Cpanel and CentOS, you might want to do a few preparation items in advance of installing Cpanel:
    Code:
    # rm -f /etc/sysconfig/iptables
    # service iptables restart
    # yum -y install coreutils binutils dialog screen make gcc gcc-* glibc*
    # yum -y upgrade
    # cpan
    -- install CPAN
    -- reload CPAN
    -- exit

The "installing Cpanel" part is fairly easy:
    Code:
    # wget -nc -T30 http://layer1.cpanel.net/latest
    # chmod 0700 ./latest
    # ./latest
