I didn't know how to title this. Here's the situation:

I either create a new account in WHM or use the Copy accounts feature. This account resides on a different server and is now also on the cpanel server. I or the client still have some work to do on the site and/or we have not changed the name servers at the Registrar yet.

What is happening is users mail is being received on the cpanel server. I didn't think this was possible unless the name servers had been changed.

What's happening and is there a way to avoid this?

Any mail sent from an account on the same server as the new account will get delivered locally as that is the first place the server looks before sending the mail out. Here is the solution:

    In SSH:

    pico -w /etc/localdomains

Comment out the line with the domain on it that you don't want local delivery for.

    then hit ctrl-o [enter] ctrl-x

    Done.

    Thanks Marty.

I'll try that. But one domain in particular, one of mine, was receiving mail from members sent to support@domainname.com.

And I'm certain it's happening with others as well.
