I need to change ip and do Ip migration.

Hi All:
We changed bandwidth providers and and now have a new subnet. The old t1 is being turned off soon. I need to change ip and do Ip migration. Question 1 can I put new ips on second nic. That way I can have servers on both subnets while updating or does this cause problems. I have cpanel license for both old ip and new ip. If not and I add the new ips on different subnet to same nic card when do I change the connection to the new switch?

The tools in the WebHost Manager in Main >> IP Functions will only add IP addresses to the main network interface. What you describe is theoretically possible, but you will need to edit the network scripts yourself to bind and un-bind the IP addresses on the second interface.

Making incorrect edits is something that carries a high risk of putting the server offline, so you really need to work with your data center to do this. Your data center's staff should be able to help you make the necessary changes to the network configuration scripts to do what you want without putting your server offline.

Once you have made the changes in the network scripts, you can use Main >> IP Functions >> IP Migration Wizard to migrate your accounts from one set of IP addresses to a new set. Also be sure to use Main >> Server Configuration >> Basic cPanel & WHM Setup to set your new main shared IP address.
