Purchased a domain and hosting off an ebay dealer last September and all has been well until today when I go online and find that the C-Panel Account has been suspended.

What is that about and am I jumping to conclusions in thinking that there is something bad happening here.

I have contacted the Host but wether he replies is another story

What happens to my site....is everything gone?

You should always have a fresh backup just in case. If you can get back in, get one quick.

That's pretty much the first rule of hosting, always have a backup. There are too many fly-by-night hosting companies and it's worth researching any company you're thinking about using.

Best of luck with getting your site up and running again.

    ouch

You may want to run a check against the ip address of the server to see who owns the cpanel license.

You may find the cpanel server your using is a resellers - and maybe that reseller was disabled for some reason...

If you can reach the owner of the server - ask them directly for assistance -

    worth a shot.

Sorry to hear what happened to you. Unfortunately, situations like this - which are experienced by many people - teach the invaluable lesson to keep backups.

Also, some personal advice of mine, don't buy hosting off of eBay. From time to time I browse the eBay hosting sections and I have never seen a real reputable host. Many seem to be offering unrealistic deals at unrealistic prices simply to entice new hosting customers people into helping them make a quick buck.

I wish you luck and hope you get your data back!

I have the page backed up so that is no worries but it's all the pictures/forum etc that I am wondering about.

This person is a reseller and I don't know the Server Ip to check.

    Well lesson learnt!

Typically a site is suspended for non-payment, although sometimes things go wrong with the billing software and suspend accounts in error.

Even when a site's suspended, I've never known a host to delete/terminate immediately, meaning your pages are still there, just not accessible. They normally give you time to rectify whatever needs to be done to bring the account back to good standing (assuming it wasn't a technical glitch).

Send me a private message with the domain name you were using
and if you have it, the IP address of your server account ...

I am usually pretty good and tracking down who owns what,
how things are setup, what host is actually be used, what data
center, etc etc etc. and might be able to get you at least a
better idea of what happened to your account or the person
    who sold you that account.
