Is there a way to have the server send you a text message on your cell phone when certain services are down? Would want apache and MySQL to text me if they are down.

Ideally it would be nice if my home computer could monitor these services and check them every 5 minutes or so. Or perhaps there is already an on line service set up for this.

Anyone doing this? All my servers are cpanel.

    Yes, sure it can. :)

First, in WHM, find at top of left menu the option Basic cPanel/WHM Setup, and add your details to all sections not already filled in and save. Next, type in the word Contact to the search tool, top left corner of WHM, click Contact Manager in the results.

In your Contact Manager you'll now see many options you can be alerted to (or not) depending on your needs.

cPanel checks all services for you and restarts them as needed. And, will alert you to this via the Contact Preferences you've selected, mentioned above.

As for outside server monitoring, there are many services/companies that provide this sort of thing if needed.

I'll try that if I can figure out where it is supposed to send to! Next call... sprint.

    Thanks-
