one of the customer has a directory called icons and he has 5 files inside this icons dir: . When accessing through main domain :

http://test.com/icons/ , it picks the files stored in :

    /var/www/icons or /usr/local/apache/icons

The ownership is correct and there is no symlink.

However when accessing through server name :

http://server.abc.com/~test/icons/ it serves the files correctly.

    Any suggestions ???

This isn't a cpanel issue mate, its an apache issue. Have a look for the aliase in your httpd.conf to icons and remove or comment it out. Restart apache and your problem is solved.

    Alias /icons/ "/usr/local/apache/icons/"

I commented out that and it seems to be fine.

However is that not required to be enabled ?
