hello all,
I have a dedicated server with 24GB RAM and following CPU config. For a shared hosting server, what should be the ideal I/O, CPU limits? Any help would be appreciated.

Code:
processor	: 0
vendor_id	: GenuineIntel
cpu family	: 6
model : 26
model name	: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz
stepping	: 5
cpu MHz : 2668.000
cache size	: 8192 KB
physical id	: 0
siblings	: 8
core id : 0
cpu cores	: 4
apicid : 0
initial apicid	: 0
fpu : yes
fpu_exception	: yes
cpuid level	: 11
wp : yes

It is really not about a server, or how powerful it is.
If server is more powerful -- you will just fit more customers on that server. The default limits are about what most hosting companies give to their customers.
If you want to provide higher end hosting -- increase limits
if you want to provide lower end hosting -- decrease limits.

Thank you, appreciate it.

@Igor

I guess he is trying to ask what is the most popular settings (or some average) used to limit users on shared hosting, so he can know how many accounts he can put on box in average.
