You really spent "days and days" on this issue?
Actually it should be a piece of cake to straighten you out and I'd be
glad to volunteer a hand sorting that out. Incidentally, it generally
only takes a few seconds to do all you are asking in your post above.
I'll send you my contact information and we can chat more about this ...
Meanwhile:
1) Do I need a url for whm which I do have.. elfsoup.info
You at the very least need a DNS zone setup for the domain for it to be able to work.
Beyond that, it depends on what you would like to do. If you would like your .COM and .INFO
point to the same web site then I would add "elfsoup.info" as a
PARKED domain on the
account that already has the .COM domain.
If you want your .INFO to have a different web site than the .COM, then you could either setup
the .INFO as an
ADDON domain on the .COM account or put it under it's own account.
If you don't want any web site but just want .INFO working for resolution purposes, you could
just simply create the DNS zone for the domain and not setup anything else.
2) In the Primary Nameserver in the basic setup what do I put in there.. I have ns.elfsoup.info and ns2.elfsoup.info
Are you talking about Cpanel / WHM or the console at your domain registrar where you purchased the domain?
For the former, you would put the server names of whatever your DNS servers on your server are currently named.
(You could actually create new servers for your .INFO domain but that has more steps involved)
For the latter, you would have either your current server DNS servers setup as the authoritive nameservers for
the new domain or setup new DNS server hosts and then change the domain to use those new nameserver addresses.
3) In the Primary Resolver and Secondary Resolver what ip do I put in there ?
I am getting the impression by this question that you are actually trying to setup the server and not the new domain!
Your resolver information is provided to you by your server provider and is the IP addresses of where your server
should go to perform outside DNS hostname to IP resolutions and routing checks.
Oh my main url is elfsoup.com do I really need to use the .info I have.
But again, what do you want to do with the .INFO?
Replace the .COM?
Work alongside the .COM?
Etc ...
