I've got a serious problem with my cpanel/whm server. It's now running dovecot and several times a day IMAP disappears. It seems to be related to some kind of idiots attacking it and trying to get in via ssh and targetting IMAP itself too.

It's basically making the server unusable as I can't send or read email when I need to and the server disappears offline altogether.

I'm getting bored of it now.

Is there a blacklist of IPs that is shared around so all the ones I'm blocking could be blocked from every single cpanel server on the planet like you can do with email black lists? This way they can't go bothering others and if an innocent bystander has an insecure computer then their ISP can help them sort it out so they can't be assisting these people.

Yes. It seems to be the cause of the problem. The support people for my vps have amended one of the settings so hopefully that will fix that issue and keep the server secure as well.

It is set to do that. It's blocking lots :) I've also got the distributed attack system switched on so a whole group will get blocked if they're colluding.
