Imap isn't showing or downloading all messages

Got a bit of an odd problem here

I moved hosts recently and everything seemed to go ok, except the new host had setup Spam assassin to auto delete emails it thought were spam
So, a whole bunch of emails got deleted
So I logged back onto the old server through Imap and it's not showing about half a months worth of emails, even though they show when I log into webmail
Anyone know why they aren't showing in Imap but are in webmail?

Just to verify have you tried opening the emails on webmail that do show up? If they are broken, the data may be lost and it might be necessary to look at recovery options. Please give this a try and if it doesn't show anything useful I would recommend opening a ticket using the link below. Please let me know if you need any more help.

Thanks Matt,

Yes the emails opened fine on webmail, they just didn't show at all when viewing via webmail (horde, squirrel or roundcube)
But I decided to download all 842 messages via pop3 and upload them back to the new host.
Which meant all messages showed as being new, but at least it worked.
