I found the following in today's LogWatch:

    **Unmatched Entries**
/usr/lib/courier-imap/etc/shared/index: No such file or directory: 5
    Time(s)
Error: No space left on device: 8 Time(s)
Failed to create cache file: maildir_lock (craigh@xxx.com): 5
    Time(s)
Failed to create cache file: maildir_lock (jgiaimo@yyy.com): 1
    Time(s)
Failed to create cache file: maildir_lock (tgiaimo@yyy.com): 2
    Time(s)

I've touched the missing index file although I'm not 100% sure why it suddenly disappeared. It has stopped complaining. I'm thinking the cache file failure and space issue might have to do with reaching node limits? This is avery busy mail server and not much else. No disk or partition is even close to being full.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

Did you check the inodes with df -i?
