imap keeps failing and users unable to access email accounts.

Recently I have been getting this problem where the server load is relatively high and several processes are failing.

what can I do to resolve this? Please help,

Imap failure has this;

imap failed @ Thu Oct 18 14:08:44 2012. A restart was attempted automagically.
