I am occasionally having issues while using webmail with not being able to read certain messages. I cannot seem to find out how to fix this - it seems that it fixes itself or just poking and proding it makes it start working again for no particular reason. Message size seems to have no relavance either. I get the following error when this occurs in the maillog:

imapd[6420]: Command stream end of file, while reading line user=dale host=localhost [127.0.0.1]

This happens with any of the cpanel webmail programs that use imap. I have searched all over for some solution to this error without any luck. Stopping/restarting cpanel, exim, imap, etc doesn't do any good.

Solution?

Did you ever figure out what this was? We're seeing similar problems with customers not being able to use IMAP when everything is setup correctly and we've verified. We are also getting the
"Command stream end of file, while reading line" error.

Nope, I gave up and simply reboot every couple of days. *sigh*

Go on, have a guess
If you don't use Neomail you could switch to the new courier-imap daemon which may solve IMAP problems. See: /scripts/convert2maildir
