    Looks like the script is looking to restart using inet instead of xinetd. The former was used prior to RedHat 7, the latter from 7.0 and on.

    You could probably edit these two lines:

    $st = '/etc/rc.d/init.d/inet status';
    $command = '/etc/rc.d/init.d/inet stop;/etc/rc.d/init.d/inet start';

    to:

    $st = '/etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd status';
    $command = '/etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd stop;/etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd start';

    Or perhaps just add a symbolic link. Ideally WHM should probably take care of this by looking for the existance of one file or the other, or checking the RH version. I suspect any change you make in the scripts will just get overwritten when CPanel updates.

    I dont know what file this is in, so I just ran this from prompt:

    &/etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd stop;/etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd start&

    and it is all better... Will CPanel update break it?

    It may. ;) So you'd better just reinstall imap from RPMs using WHM installer link ;) It fixes imap problem more easily (just don't forget to check [x] force)
