I have a user that can access mail via POP3 just fine, but can't get IMAP to work. He used IMAP with several other providers, but can't get it to work with my server.

On a whim, he changed it to IMAP with SSL in his Outlook, and now it works. When he removes the SSL checkbox, it stops working.

My server is new, so maybe he is the first person to try IMAP.
Can someone give me some direction as to what things to check?

Scott,
Since IMAP over SSL uses a different port (I think 993 if I remember right) and it works for your customer the problem might be with the regular imap port. try telnetting to the regular imap port and see if something happens.
