I have read several posts about there being implications for running PHPSuexec. However, I have not run across a post that thoroughly discusses what the implications are.

I am fully prepared to take heat for mission something obvious :) but I would like to request that someone either point me to a post or list the implications for changing.

    thanks very much,

    Chris

Note that the newest versions of PHP do away with the "bug" of being able to have a local php.ini to override global settings.

Additionally, in cPanel 11 Stage 2 we are using SuPHP instead of PHPSuExec for all versions of Apache we support.

The "out of box" configuration of suPHP allows local php.ini files. This can be changed by modifying the suPHP_ConfigPath directive.
