I have 2 email accounts that both are showing high storage, but there mailboxes are essentially empty (k of data).
    Sylvia@domain.com shows 33MB/40 (quota)
    zachacy@domain.com shows 18 MB/20 (quota)

I have tried everything from various forums as well as this one to no avail.
There is no email by webmail or scp, except for bytes

    I have tried:
    /scripts/generate_maildirsize –confirm –allaccounts –verbose root
    Deleted email_accounts.yaml and email_accounts.cache from domain.net

    The following is interesting:

    /home/chiod$ du -shc mail/*
    23M mail/domain.net
    12K mail/cur
    0 mail/dovecot-acl-list
    8.0K mail/dovecot-uidlist
    4.0K mail/dovecot-uidvalidity
    0 mail/dovecot-uidvalidity.547a8e76
    132K mail/dovecot.index.cache
    8.0K mail/dovecot.index.log
    4.0K mail/maildirsize
    12K mail/new
    4.0K mail/tmp
    23M total

    Where is that 23MB???

Any help would be appreciated... Thanx

Where is the rest of t.

    Hello

This could be due to the cached mail dir size present in the cPanel cache. Please check it after removing the cPanel cache file /home/user/.cpanel and then logout and login to the cPanel.

    Hello :)

Could you browse further into this directory with the "du" command to determine where the space was coming from? EX:

    Code:
    find /home/$username/mail -type d -maxdepth 3 -exec du -sh {} + | sort -n
    Thank you.

    Deleted /home/user/.cpanel/email_accounts.cache and email_accounts.yaml
    NO EFFECT

Running du -sh only gives me total domain size (97MB). Here is all info on the mail (-h and sh):
[Removed - Long Output, not helpful, please use CODE tags]

And 23M still does not account for the (33+18) 51MB being recorded by cpanel
