Increase /Home Disk Space from /Backup

Greetings to Sifus, May i ask how i going to increase /home disk space from /backup in WHM? since my /backup folder is not using, because I backup to external point.
Hope can advise me. TQ very much :D

Hi,
you can increase the space by two methods

1) from the screenshot it shows the partition style is LVM so you can remove the LVM for /backup and extend the space to /home

2) Another alternative is to remount the /backup as /home2 and change the default home for new accounts to /home2 from whm >> Home / Server Configuration /Basic WebHost Manager® Setup as shown below.

so all new accounts will be created under newly assigned partition instead of old /home by this way you can avoid filling up /home further.

also, you can move a few existing accounts from /home to /home2, to reduce the space usage of /home

HI, @dsteam
Be careful when you play with LVM that may corrupt the data, so if you just need to make use of /backup disk then try the second method as I suggested ( assigning unused disk to /home2 for new accounts) .
