increased disk to 3TB but only 2TB are showing

I have a machine (aws instance) which had a prior size of 300GB. I modified the volume size to 3TB, powered up the machine and we are good except for that the machine can see only 2TB
let me show you below;






So there is 1TB that is on disk but is not being used by the partition xvda1.
Any ideas?

Looks like the partition has not been extended to the size of the volume properly.

the thing is, i am running the server so there is no one to call. That is why I was asking you guy to see if centos's Filesystem has some restrictions on volumes being greater than 2TB.
