We run:

WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.9.0-S48
CentOS 4.4 i686 - WHM X v3.1.0

Due to compilation needs, we need to increase the size of /tmp from 485mb to 2gb WITHOUT LOSING ANY DATA.

Is there a way to do this?

If your /tmp is a partition in its own right, you will need a re-partitioning tool which works from a bootable CD or floppy. I believe there are several linux tools to do this, but we use Acronis Disk Director, as we have W2k3 servers too:

http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/diskdirectorsuite/

This will enable you to shrink another partion and expand your /tmp partition, without loosing any data.
