I'm setting up my first website. I need a little guidence. When I uploaded my homepage and then checked my domain name (www.abcefg.com), I see the Apache Index page with what appears to other directories. If I manually type in www.abcefg.com.index.html then my homepage loads. Shoudn't my homepage load first?

Yes, if your index.html file is located in /public_html then it should automatically load up when visiting the domain (there are exceptions to this, but I doubt they apply here).

Is "abcefg.com" your actual domain name? I only see a parking page there.

    You mean "www.abcefg.com/index.html" correct?

My domain name is miaddirect.com. I just used abcdeg.com as an example. If you load miaddirect.com, you'll see what I was referring to. If you load miaddirect.com/Index.html then you'll see the homepage. (Well, you'll see a blank page, with a missing image. I'll figure that one out later.) I used 3D FTP to upload the homepage, perhaps I loaded the wrong file, or something else.

    Thanks,

Unix file names are case-sensitive. Rename Index.html to index.html and your problem will be sorted. :)

You really should be asking your host for assistance, thats what you pay them for.
