I am getting errors trying to install on a clean centos-5.1 install inside a Xen domU.

    Creating directory installd
    Verifying archive integrity... All good.
    Uncompressing cplyr1-cPanelExtraction failed.
    .Terminated

    Any ideas?

    Make sure SELinux is disabled.

    Edit /etc/sysconfig/selinux & set SELINUX=disabled then reboot :)

    Hi,

    Do you have /etc/selinux/ ?
You can disable it in the conf i think.
    or
    run as root
    system-config-securitylevel and disable it there.

I had to install system-config-securitylevel with yum. SELINUX was walready disabled when I ran it. It also installed openldap which according to the docs needs to be uninstalled for cpanel to install correctly.
At any rate .... same error.

Try this on the command line:

    Code:
    wget http://layer1.cpanel.net/latest
    sh latest --noexec

The above downloads the newest version of the installer and de-compresses it. If that works then do the following to begin the install:

    Code:
    ./installd/bootstrap

If the de-compression still fails, please open a complimentary support ticket at https://tickets.cpanel.net/submit/

Mark the ticket ATTN: QA Installer issue on Xen

and we will gladly examine the system to determine why it is not progressing.

    Please open the ticket.

Thanks, i forgot to run the base install in the VPS, which also caused the problem.

I just had this problem myself. If it's any help, as hinted at in cmdln's post, all I ended up having to do was "yum install tar". The cPanel install file then uncompressed without an error, although I did then have to "yum install perl" to get it running :)

    Hello,

You need to run the base install in order to install a number of files that cPanel will require, yum groupinstall base
