Hi,
I am trying to install openssl 1.1.0l on centos 7 standalone. After I extract the files, I run openssl version and get version 1.0.2k.
No matter what OpenSSL version I try to install, I get the same version ..
I have perl 5.16.3 version installed on the server.
What am I not doing right?
I would be happy if anyone could help with the issue or refer to a solution.
Thanks

Hey there! In general, I don't recommend trying to update the OpenSSL packages on a system past the point of what CentOS supports. It can lead to conflicts and make the server unstable.

I checked a CentOS 7 machine and confirmed version 1.0.2k is what should be in place. Is there a specific reason you're trying to update that package?
