    hey,

Im using Fedora Core 4 and every time i install cpanel using:

    mkdir /home/cpins
    cd /home/cpins
    wget http://layer1.cpanel.net/latest
    sh latest

my system freezes on boot (also the same when i used debain, but thats in beta)

and when i run buildapache.sea, then option 2, i get loads of errors saying stuff like:

"./buildscript: line 409: /scripts/checkfpkey: No such file or directory"

    What am i doing wrong?

You'll need to be a bit more specific, where, exactly, during the boot sequence does it "freeze"? You'll need the console output (or, if you're lucky, it'ss be in dmesg) for that.

If you don't have a /scripts/checkfpkey script then the original install has not worked. You should check the log information in /var/log/cpanel*.

Some things to be aware of:

    1. You must only do a minimal server installation of your OS of choice

    2. Fedora Core 4 is very new and likely to have problems in itself, never mind with cPanel on it (it's also not a good OS at all for a production server)

    3. If after checking through everythings above you still have problems, log a support ticket with cPanel

    Two things:

    1. Make sure that cPanel is actually running:

    service cpanel restart

    2. Make sure that you don't have a firewall inadvertently installed:

    service iptables stop

    try again.

    3. See if the non-SSL port works:

    http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:2086

If none of those help, post the output of:

    netstat -lpn
