I need to install an SSL cert on my main site, but I have a bunch of add-on domains is this still possible or would the add-on domains need to be moved to another account?

Nope, it will not work for Addon domains.

You will need to move your addon domains to other account :)

SSL will work for 1 of your domains on the account since you can only bind 1 IP-address per account.

If you need SSL for more than 1 domain, you'd either have to change manually in httpd.conf so that the other domain has its own ip or move it to a seperate account.

In your case - go for it. Just give the account an IP-address, then install the certificate on the domain and IP.
