I'm now using Nginx at my home as a web server, it is awesome, and simple. Last Friday, I order a VPS with cpanel, and I want to install Nginx as a web server, the last time I use Linux is 10 years ago, so I'm not familiar with Linux now, therefore I order the VPS with cPanel, hope that it can make all the things easier....However, I don't think it make it easy but make it more complex some way...

Anyway, here is my current situation, I request the VPS's CS to help me to install Nginx and update PHP to 5.3.6, they did, however, they can't help to install MySQL 5.5.12 because cPanel didn't support (wtf)....anyway, MySQL not really a problem currently, I'm headache on how to remove the apache, and use Nginx.

    Here are my questions,
    1. I can't find any option to remove apache from cpanel, I try yum or rpm to remove "apache" or "httpd" ( it seems it is not install by them), no luck.
    2. I want to re-compile php with php-fpm enable, seems it is the same problem with question 1, I don't know where they installed.
    3. So, I give up uninstall apache, and stop the service with "apachectl stop" (don't know it will restart again or not), but I don't know where should I put the html file, and don't even know is my PHP is link with Nginx (I just follow the config file here Guide: running NginX 1.0 with PHP-FPM 5.3 on CentOS 5.x ~ Mattias Geniar), however, it only show 50x.html when I open my browser, and it will redirect to http://IP/cgi-sys/webXXXX.cgi when apache is "suddenly" wakeup.
    4. I can see the CS is using cpnginx to install Nginx in the server, but this nginx is rely on httpd << why? Is the cpnginx is only use for reverse proxy rather than a standalone server in cPanel installed VPS?

Someone please help me to solve it, or tell me can I do it, I don't waste too much time on it, because the money is go away day by day:(~~ thanks a lot.
