    Hi All,

I have two new servers which I've been working on installing cPanel on this evening but have hit a bit of a brick wall on both of them.

During the install I got all sort's of failure messages like this:

    Code:
    Can't locate version.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /scripts /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib64/perl5/5.8.8/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8 .) at /scripts/Cpanel/CPAN/Getopt/Param.pm line 7.
    Can't locate version.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /scripts /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib64/perl5/5.8.8/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8 .) at /scripts/Cpanel/CPAN/Getopt/Param.pm line 7.

Which is then promptly followed by

    Code:
    Finished
If you are getting an "undefined catalog error", please run:
The Apache conf is missing! Please check your system. at /scripts/fixmailmanwithsuexec line 34.
error reading information on service proftpd: No such file or directory
error reading information on service exim: No such file or directory
error reading information on service cpanel: No such file or directory
error reading information on service bandmin: No such file or directory
    Starting sshd: [ OK ]
    Cannot open /etc/chkserv.d at /scripts/restartsrv_exim line 115.

Now, I think this may have something to do with the CPAN mirror that cPanel tried to use during the install because when I tried to force an update to the Perl installation I see this

    Code:
    Could not fetch modules/03modlist.data.gz
    Going to write /home/no/Metadata
Warning: Cannot install Bundle::CPAN, don't know what it is.
    Try the command

        i /Bundle::CPAN/

to find objects with matching identifiers.
Warning: Cannot install CPAN, don't know what it is.
    Try the command

        i /CPAN/

to find objects with matching identifiers.

I should make it clear, this happens for every Perl module it try's to install.

Now, I'd love to force cPanel to use a mirror I want (e.g. I have a local mirror in the datacenter I'm in) - is that possible?

BTW, I'm getting the exact same thing on two different machines.

    Thanks

I hate replying to my own post's but I have some more info.

It seem's that it's whatever default mirror cPanel uses for CPAN. I just tested this on i386 CentOS 5.4 and saw this in the logs:

    Code:
    System call "/usr/bin/wget -O - "ftp://ftp.cise.ufl.edu/pub/mirrors/CPAN/modules/03modlist.data.gz" > /home/no/sources/modules/03modlist.data"
    returned status 1 (wstat 256)
Warning: expected file [/home/no/sources/modules/03modlist.data.gz] doesn't exist
    Issuing "/usr/bin/ftp -n"

    Trying 128.227.176.228...
    usage: user username [password] [account]
    Local directory now /home/no/sources/modules

Please login with USER and PASS
Please login with USER and PASS
Please login with USER and PASS
Please login with USER and PASS
Please login with USER and PASS
Please login with USER and PASS
    Passive mode refused.
    Bad luck... Still failed!
    Can't access URL ftp://ftp.cise.ufl.edu/pub/mirrors/CPAN/modules/03modlist.data.gz.

Any idea's how to force the installer/cPanel to use a working mirror?

    Edit

It's not the best option but I got around it by changing the IP mapping in the /etc/hosts file. It works now and both server's are installing. Still, need to get that mirror selection fixed!

I had a similar issue today.

So, I tried updating Bundle::CPAN and no luck.
