Is this a new server you are installing cPanel on? If yes, rename the /var/lib/mysql directory

and start the cPanel installation again.

If you are receiving the error message while updating cPanel, reset the Mysql root password from SSH and the error will no longer appear.

You can also reset the mysql password from WHM >> SQL Services.

    Hello

yes, is a new server and i used an image of centos 64 for this. Is a VPS actually. So to avoid this situation i have to modify the image used for instalation according to your specs?

    Cheers

No, no need to change the image. Would you mind if I take a look at your server and see whats wrong there?
