Ok here is what I learnt after a while and happy to pass it on.

    1. Go into whm and uninstall it under addon modules.
    2. SSH into your server, cd /usr/local
    3. rm -f -r -d jdk1.5.0_02 this will delete the folder contence.
    4. go back into whm and re-install tomcat and wait. take about 2 mins and down the bottom you should get the root username and password and link.
    5. if you can't get into port 8080 for eg, yoursite.com:8080 you may have to add port 8080 in your common ingress file in your firewall like i did with APF.

Apart from that it should work, I have deleted it several times with success but am having problems intalling the admin side of it if anyone wants to help :)

Also keep in mind that the status screens only update every 8 or 9 minutes. Do "service chkservd restart" to refresh it quicker. Also check if indeed it is running...

    ps -ef |grep java
    netstat -an |grep 8080
