    Hey Folks,

Apologies if this is a well known issue, I've had a look through the forums and can't seem to see any other threads reporting this issue.

I performed a fresh install of CentOS 5.2, did a yum update then downloaded and ran the cPanel installer. The installer didn't prompt for any options but when it was done I tried to visit the cpanel url.

Except there's no httpd installed, trying to restart apache manually via the init.d script just doesn't work:

According to the installation instructions, I don't have to have Apache installed when I run the installer - but it seems like this isn't the case.

These are the instructions I'm using:
    http://www.cpanel.net/support/docs/11/whm/install_overview.html

Am I missing something obvious? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Okay, so it looks like the httpd init script was either installed by default by CentOS (even though I didn't install apache or any other httpd), or cPanel installed it pointing to the wrong place.

I've dropped the firewall and can reach the page fine for now.

    Thanks anyway guys :)
