The online is rather limited in functionality due to the security precautions that must be taken with such a public demo.

If you want to evaluate the full functionality of cPanel/WHM, I recommend acquiring a no cost 15-day test license of our software. You can do this at the cPanel Store located at:

    http://www.cPanel.net/store

Proceed as if you were purchasing a license. When prompted for which license you wish to acquire, select the 15-day test license.

    Thanks David

I can not try to install Cpanel with 15 days trial on my current server.

can you help me with some more questions?

How about Apache, PHP, and MySql? These will be installed by Cpanel too?

what version of Apache, PHP, and MySql will be installed?

For mail server, it will be set up/config during installation and ready for create account and check mail from outlook or webmail without any extra config after install?

If i want to install Tomcat or solr, can I use module installer of Cpanel to install as install Pearl modules, Php Pears?

    thanks

Yes, PHP, Apache and MySQL are installed by default. You can also select which versions of PHP and Apache to use after the installation if you desire to use a different version than our default settings. MySQL can also be upgraded from 4.1.x to 5.0.x after installation at this time.

The mail server (Exim as the MTA, Courier for POP3/IMAP) is automatically configured with settings that are good for most servers. All you would need to do is create an account for the cPanel interface and in that cPanel interface create the email accounts you desire. You would merely need to configure your mail clients to check the mail on your server.

Perl modules and PHP PEAR packages as well as PHP PECLs may be installed via the WHM interface. Individual users can also install Perl modules and PHP PEAR packages via the cPanel interface.

Tomcat is only recommended for experienced Tomcat administrators at this time. However, it can be installed via the Easy Apache interface (WHM -> Software -> Apache Update). When you get to step 5 of that process, simply check the box for Tomcat to install Tomcat support.

I am not familiar with SOLR as we do not natively support it. That doesn't mean you can't get it to work in a cPanel/WHM environment, just that we don't have a management interface for SOLR at this time. You may wish to put in an official feature request for that at: http://bugzilla.cpanel.net
