Trying to install image magick on one of our systems seems to start ok but about 5 minutes in it is working on file
magick.xs and it begins spitting out thousands of error/warning lines like this:

Magick.xs:5359: error: called object '<erroneous-expression>' is not a function
Magick.xs:5361: warning: implicit declaration of function 'GetImageType'
Magick.xs:5361: error: 'struct Methods' has no member named 'exception'
Magick.xs:5363: error: 'MagickTypeOptions' undeclared (first use in this function)
Magick.xs:5363: warning: passing argument 3 of 'Perl_sv_setpv' makes pointer from integer without a cast
/usr/lib64/perl5/CORE/proto.h:3367: note: expected 'const char *' but argument is of type 'int'
Magick.xs:5377: error: 'struct PackageInfo' has no member named 'image_info'

This goes on for about 2 hours. We decided to kill it yesterday and try again today in case something might
have died during the build but running it again produces the same errors.

This is a new machine, only test accounts on it now and it is a 8 core machine with 4gb ram and huge amounts of disk space.

Should this install take this long and produce this many errors ? Something seems very weird.

After letting it for for another hour it finally ended the magick.xs with this :

    Howdy,

I'm going to take a wild guess and bet you have a sandybridge intel CPU? If so some of the changes we just made in edge should help (see 11.32.2.6).

    Thanks!

WE have the same problem on
    WHM 11.32.2 (build 25)
    CENTOS 6.2 x86_64 standard

    This is an AMD CPU

    cat /proc/cpuinfo
    processor : 0
    vendor_id : AuthenticAMD
    cpu family : 16
    model : 10
    model name : AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 960T Processor

    What was the solution?

    Thanks
    GL

Ok ... the solution has nothing to do with available memory or sandybridge etc ... Just change the available cpanel process memory under TWEAK SETTING / SYSTEM to 512MB
