I am just curious, I know how hard it was for the techs to install cPanel on a new server, but I also have a debian sarge server with 7 virtual sites already on it and about 140 ftp accounts into the same server... Basically there is no mail server on it, nor anyway to truly monitor bandwidth, something that cPanel seems very good at doing.

is it possible to still place cPanel on such a server?

    No, here's why

    1. Debian is not supported. For a list of supported distros, visit: http://www.cpanel.net/products/cPanelandWHM/linux/sys_requirements.htm

    2. cPanel/WHM absolutely must be installed on a freshly installed OS - meaning not an existing production server and not running any server software such as Apache. Full details on how to prepare your server for the installation of cPanel/WHM can be found in our Installation Guide located at: http://www.cpanel.net/docs/whm/WebHost_Manager_User_Manual.htm#Installation.htm

    thanks! I appreciate the answer.

I found an open source program much like cPanel that does work just fine on all linux version to include Debian, and works well with my server already having so much on it. Thanks though!!!
