Installing GMP / Manual PHP Recompile

I need to recompile PHP with the '--with-gmp' option, but the Build Apache screen doesn't allow me this as a choice, so do I need to manually recompile it via SSL?

If so, could someone explain/point in the direction on what I have to do?
