Hello,

I have a Jenkins CI Setup on my tech server at home and want to push sites to my prod server which is also my cPanel server.

I was wondering if I should leave it that way and make my cPanel server be the slave, or install Jenkins on the cPanel server.

Not quite sure what the best avenue is to go down and was looking for advice.

Any advice would be well appreciated.

Hello,

There's no native support for setting up a cPanel server as a slave, however you are welcome to try implementing such a configuration if you are comfortable doing so. As far as installing the application on the cPanel server, I found the installation instructions at:

Installing Jenkins on Red Hat distributions - Jenkins - Jenkins Wiki

Also, per their requirements page:

Jenkins requires Java7 or above to function. Java8 is recommended. Jenkins requires a fair amount of memory to operate well. Smaller installations should start around 256MB-1GB.
Thank you.
