Not sure if this is possible but I have a domain hosted on a shared domain through service provider (surfspeedy.com) and am wondering if I am able to install any plugins via my cpanel control panel? Or is this something the server administrator has to do? I was particularly interested in having the spellchecker working!

    thx Mike

The problem with activating plugins on the cpanel installed squirrelmail is that
cpanel has a really nasty habit of overwriting the squirrelmail config and wiping
    out any plugin installations.

Might want to do what we did on our servers and just setup a second copy
of squirrelmail under a subdomain and let everyone access that instead.
We have a wildcard DNS entry setup that will allow everyone to access the
second copy of squirrelmail at http://webmail.yourdomain.com/

Works great, is not overwritten by cpanel, uses a newer version, and
has all the major plugins installed!

PS: In your case, you would need to get your host to do this as you
appear to be an end user per your post.
